In the Distant Past
The twins were in the bath tub.
“Momma doesn’t want you to spill the water outside the tub” their mother shouted from the kitchen.
She stared at her sister. Her sister was intelligent; she received all the attention from others. People always say why she is not like her sister. A sudden rage took over her. She started to choke her sister inside the water. Her sister struggled hard but within minutes she died.
“Oh God” her mother screamed when she saw one of her child dead in the tub. No one doubted her. She was so young that she didn’t know what she had done.
As days went by she forcefully shut her mind to that incident. She totally forgot about the incident as she became an adult.
Few minutes before she died
Wife’s View
I entered the bath turned on the water to fill the tub and poured scented oil. I got rid of the clothes and entered the water. The water was warm I started to enjoy the warmth when I heard the door open.
“What is it honey?” I asked but got no reply.
Then I saw her enter. She looked at me. She smiled. I felt I have seen her. “Does she look like me?”
She came near me and started to choke me in the water.
During those last struggling moments I finally found the answer for the question that was worrying me for the past few days.
