Why ????

During my journey from Delhi back to madras i cud notice something on general behaviour of people.

* people in sleeper class are more interactive than people in first class or a/c coaches.

* most of north indians interested in pulling legs of south indian for not knowing hindi.

this this the one reason i was really cornered by people there. they were reluctant to accept that choosing a language to learn is one's private issue. only thing is he may get or loose some opportunity based on his choice.

even Pakistani seem to know hindi, so hindi cannot be unique identity of indians. it is just language of majority of indians and it is not logical to say people who do not know hindi must learn becos they r indians.

being a right citizen involves much more things than mere knowing one language.my deepest concern wud be my children should be knowing tamil atleast to my level not hindi or english. they wud anyway forced to learn hindi or english becos of pressures by society(under the pretext-for living good or earning more or getting more opportunities)
