Day 3
The first thing I did as I got out was to peer at the penthouse window but found no one staring there. The window curtain was in its place. A raccoon ran past me. I got ready and saw my wife looking at me through the living room window. I waved at her. I kick started and looked at the penthouse window and found to my horror a woman standing there with hair drawn out on both sides peering at me. She looked familiar but I didn’t know how long I was staring at her, she was not there when I came back to this world.
I was sweating inside my winter cloths.
“Did I really see a woman?”
I looked up again and saw the curtain in its place. I could see my wife getting worried and she opened the door and asked “Is everything alright?”
“No problem” I gave her thumbs up sign and moved.
Night - 3
7 PM – 9 PM
After going through some hopeless meetings and useless discussion the day ended. With darkness settling in rather quickly on these winter nights I pierced through the darkness in my bike.
My wife started talking about all the interesting things she had done during the day. I listened to all those and went straight for the penthouse.
“Where are you going?”
“I want to check something”
We had the penthouse reserved for any guests. So we were not using it frequently except for cleaning. I opened the door and went inside. Everything looked normal. I switched on the light and walked towards the window. I moved the curtains and looked outside. I could see our garage.
“This is where she stood and she moved like this” I moved as I saw her move in the morning.
As I turned around I saw someone leaving the room. I just got a glimpse of the person. I ran outside the room and stared at the empty staircase. There was no one.
“I am sure I saw someone leave the room. Or Am I hallucinating?”
We had a quite dinner. I was thinking about what was happening in the house and my wife was immersed in some book. She likes to read while eating though I have advised her against it she couldn’t get rid of that habit.
After helping her in cleaning the dishes I settled before the television. She kissed me good night and went to sleep. They were showing a classic movie and I got involved in the movie.
