Day 8
“The word that comes to my mind after hearing your problem is Doppelganger though it’s highly debatable whether it’s a real phenomenon or not. People say seeing a Doppelganger is a bad omen but as I said the whole concept is debatable. Sometimes this could also be just a hallucination but I am not coming to any conclusion now. I will give you some medicines for relaxation and we will meet in couple of days”
We came back from the psychiatrist. The roads were bustling with people who were getting ready to welcome Christmas. Their cheerful faces made us forget our worries. We walked through the street hand in hand. We had coffee at the coffee shop. We shopped for few hours. We forgot about the Doppelganger.
Final Night
By the time we reached home it was dark. We didn’t discuss about the problem. I went straight for decorating the house. I felt good after long time and I felt things are going to get better. She kissed me and said she was going to have a shower. I saw her enter the bath.
As I looked up after a few seconds I saw her enter the bath again.
“Déjà vu?”
I forgot about that and worked on the Christmas tree and finished the decorations.
I made coffee and settled on the sofa with the TV switched on. I heard the door to the bath open. I turned back and saw her come out. She was completely wet. She stared into my eyes which made the hairs at the back of my neck stand straight. She started to walk towards me. Something was creepy about her. She was crying. Her mouth was moving but no sound came out.
“What happened?” I swiftly got up.
She was about to fall to the floor and I tried to catch her.
When I came out of the trance I found myself sitting in the floor with no one in my hands. I checked out the bath door and found it to be open.
I got up and walked inside the bath and moved the curtains aside and found my wife inside the tub, dead.
